My name is Milan Strada.

I live and work in a small town just north of New York City. I started working with stone after college in my native country, the Czech Republic. One of my proudest accomplishments was working on a restoration team in the early 80’s restoring sections of the facade of the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.

When I moved to New York in 1985 I was able to utilize my knowledge and experience as a mason to build a commercial marble and stone business.  Over the years, I have been fortunate to work with a variety of high-profile clients across New York City, Westchester, and Connecticut, but I never lost interest in the creative process of working with stone.

A year ago I made the decision to dedicate more of my time to designing and producing decorative pieces of my own.  Many of the pieces I design come from slabs of various marble and precious stones and are designed to evoke a contemporary minimalist aesthetic. Other pieces start as unearthed natural rock lying on the side of a road or found in the woods around my home, and would remain untouched forever if they hadn't caught my eye.

I hope that you share my affinity for contemporary art, minimalist design and functionality found in all my creations.
